TeleSpy Intruder Alert - A Powerful Alarm System for Only $75

Yesterday we crafted a special home security checklist that should help you out if you are looking for tips and advice on how improve your  home's security without spending much money. In light of this, we can also talk a bit about the TeleSpy - a powerful (and practical) alarm system which can be connected to your telephone line in order to call you on your cellphone in case of a home burglary. Did we also mention that it is extremely affordable?

Tele Spy is one of the most clever and reliable combinations that include a telephone,  motion sensor, alarm and microphone that we could ever imagine. Security systems are rather expensive to upkeep and monitor so it is nice to know that there is a sophisticated alternative.

How Does Tele Spy Work?

Well, from the start we should note that this is a great 2-in-1 deal because TeleSpy also works as a regular telephone! But here is the general explanation of the device: when you leave your home, activate the device and enter your cellphone number or any other phone number you want to be called on. Then arm the device and the motion sensor will become active. Once motion is detected, the device will dial the said number and activate the listen-in function. This allows you to listen what is happening and decide whether or not you should call the police. The listening period lasts for 30 seconds, after which the device will re-arm itself.

The TeleSpy is easy to use and comes with a great user manual which explains all  the features and how to use the device.

The Motion Sensor

The motion sensor within the TeleSpy uses passive infrared technology. The sensor detects changes in the room's heat signature due to occupant motion. The range is in excess of 30 feet at which point the width is about 20 feet, creating about a 45 degree wedge beyond the sensor origin.

What if I hear a burglar?

First, be grateful you're not there but are listening from a remote location. Never attempt to apprehend criminals. This could be very dangerous! If professional assistance is required, call 911 or your local law enforcement emergency phone number.

The TeleSpy works great with existing security systems as well and can be wired along with them.
